We’ve achieved viral, organic growth to become the most popular math education app with over 300 million downloads. Through our mobile app, users can solve math problems instantly using their phone cameras and get detailed step-by-step instructions that help maximize learning.

The data team at Photomath consists of a group of talented professionals - we are data engineers, data analysts and data scientists helping empower the company’s decision making. We work with data to find data-driven insights, create data tools, and improve the company’s data infrastructure and quality.

This role will be among the data analytics function and help bring solid data and business consulting skills to the team, join the efforts of aggregating, reporting and dashboarding data, and answer business questions from various stakeholders across Photomath.

What will you do?

  • Consult on data-related projects

    • Ideate, scope, prioritize and plan for analytics projects

    • Participate in cross functional conversations with multiple data users (from technical and/or business teams)

  • Empower business decision making through data

    • Create, deploy, and optimize analytics tools (including reporting dashboards, visualizations, and data tables)

    • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in large data sets

    • Participate in the design and development of the company’s data architecture

  • Educate the company on best practices on data processing, reporting, and experiments

    • Explore, exploit, evaluate and recommend new data sources/tools or new ways to use data

    • Identify opportunities to improve existing analytics tools

Who are you?

  • Have a degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, engineering, or related disciplines

  • Have 1+ years of experience working in similar roles

  • Expert knowledge of SQL

  • Experience working with modern databases & large volume of data

  • Experience with analytical platforms and tools such as Google Data Studio, Tableau, or Looker

  • Advanced knowledge of one or more of the mainstream data analytics languages: Python, R, Excel, etc.

  • Advanced knowledge of statistical methodologies (experiment design, hypothesis testing, etc.)

  • Enthusiasm about new technologies and capabilities to learn new skills quickly

  • Good logical/analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as acute attention to details

  • Good communication skills with internal and external stakeholders, willing to listen, understand, and share

  • Flexibility to work in diverse environments (in office or remotely, across different business locations, occasional flexible work hours)

An additional plus:

  • Experience with data science methodologies (regression, tree and forest, neural networks)

  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as GCP, Snowflake or AWS

  • Working knowledge of project management and documentation tools (Jira, Notion, Confluence, Kanban, etc.)

  • Prior experience working in a startup environment
